priority filling period

Hey, i have a question on how illinois appication works.

Do they send out decisions in batches (like u mich), after they viewed your individual profiles, or do they have a set date?

from the website, priority filling period is sep 1 - nov 15, decisions come out at dec 15.

so does that mean it doesn't matter at all (regarding chances) if I send my app on sep 1 or nov 14?

it sounds like if i send out my apps at sep or nov, they all come out on Dec 15 (correct me if I'm wrong), but are there difference in chances, as in if u send in later u have a better chance spaces isn't filled?

Sending it in any time during that priority period does not alter the chances---everyone who applies during that time will all see their admissions decision on Dec 15 online (Admit, Deny, Deferred, etc). Being Deferred on the first admissions date only means you will receive a new decision on the normal admissions date (I forget what day that is, but you should know)...which again could be Admit, Deny, Deferred, etc.

One piece of advice: APPLY DURING Sep 1 - Nov 15
Getting admitted on December 15th made things so much easier than having to wait until spring.

I understand u get the "notification" at the same date.
but do they actually view the apps and make admits by order of recieving? which is, they already make the decisions starting say, October, but just release them in Dec?

Chances do not increase or decrease depending on when you file within priority period, applying in November is just as good as September. However, be aware what that Nov 15 date requires: you must have all things -- application, test scores, transcript (with counselor's statement that comes with app) -- in UIUC's hands by Nov 15; in other words act early because starting the app and starting to order test scores and transcript on Nov 14 is way too late.

Those who meet the priority deadline will be sent a decision December 15. It will be admit, reject, or deferred. Deferred means you will be considered once all apps are in. Business and engineering defer a lot because they like to see whole pool before making many decisions.
