priority select application-acceptance and aid??

My son was just accepted after using the priority select application. There was no mention of any merit aid. I'm trying to figure out if that means that he is not being considered for a merit aid award.
For those of you who were accepted, did your acceptance say anything about aid?

I was accepted a fairly long time ago, in mid-November. No mention of merit aid at all in the letter. I went on Ursinus' website to see when merit scholarships were given out... this is what I found:

Ursinus Scholarships
Students must apply to the college, and should arrange an admissions interview, before February 15. The Admissions Office selects Ursinus Scholarship Finalists from the top one-fifth of admitted students on the basis of overall high school achievement and potential to contribute to the Ursinus community. Ursinus Scholars are notified in early March and are awarded between $5,000 and $17,500 annually, renewable for four years. No separate application is required.

Congrats to your son for being accepted! Is this one of his top choices?

It looks like a nice school. We have not visited in person Financial aid is a major consideration.

Hi, Mom El,

Congratulations to you and yr S.

As you are located in MA and you choose Ursinus, there must be something attractive for Ursinus.

My S is Chinese student currently studying in Hong Kong, could you mind share with me why yr family choose Ursinus instead of other bigger universities in MA, NY or PA? Is it on top of yr list? Do u know how strong is U's Chemistry program? How is this college recognised by graduate schools and employers?

Thanks.

I knew nothing about Ursinus when my son applied. He was contacted by the school, probably because of his SAT scores. when I looked at the school's web site, it looked like a nice school. Financial aid is a major consideration for me and my son. We will see whether he receives a good aid package from the school and compare it to packages that he receives at other schools. If the cost of a private college is not comparable to the cost of our public university, my son will attend the public university

I just got accepted a couple days ago (they actually sent the scholarship imformation a coupledays before i got accepted) but they said that because i';m a national merit finalist i get liek top priority for the scholarship or something, idk. but i have an interview on march 1st. actually i dont' quite understand what they were saying, but i guess i'll look into it

I was accepted in January (with the VIP application), and just heard that I am a finalist for an Ursinus College Scholarship last week. Interviews are scheduled for March 1st.

I got an email first, then a follow up letter.

Hamtaro fan: Did you go to the Scholars Day February 16th?

No, I was actually in DC for a Model UN conference. Hopefully, they won't hold it against me.

so I guess...no scholarship

who all went on march 1st? i probably saw you there! lol

I got accepted to Ursinus through Priority Application.
No mention of Aid yet.
But then again Financial Aid letters come out in March.
So still got 26 more days in this month.

I just received a letter informing me of the scholarship award under the Ursinus College Scholar program. The letter was dated March 7, 2008. They say the Student Financial Services Office will mail an award letter by early April which will include the scholarship and any need-based financial aid. Good luck to everyone else that was there for the March 1 interviews.
