Private schools near the beach/mountains?

Rule out St. Mary’s of Maryland. There is no surfing there. It’s all SAIL SAIL SAIL.

And, as for beach, yes, they have one because there’s a place where land meets water. But that’s it. Hardly a beachy/resorty/sandy flip flop culture.

How about Monmouth University in New Jersey

[Monmouth University: A Great Location](http://www.monmouth.edu/about_monmouth/abo_glance_great.asp)

So i feel like most of the preppy/ jocky kids and girls with Range Rovers go to UCSB

and the one’s who like to wear glasses and vans, smoke pot and watch movies go to UCSC.

I’m sort of right down the middle in my personality, so it would be a tough divide for me to make! hahah

I was about to say Pepperdine when I opened this thead, but I see it’s been mentioned enough times haha. But still, if you want surf and mountains, Pepperdine is hard to beat.

BobbyCT, one person from my HS I believe is going to Furman, 2 of my next door neighbors are going to Furman (one on the basketball team) and 3 people I know elsewhere are going there for a total of 6 people…coming from the Boston area

I second Pomona, it fits the bill perfectly. Just need to get that ACT up unless you’re being recruited for Lacrosse.

Claremont colleges.

pomona has a ski-beach day in febuary

would i even have a shot at any of the Claremont colleges?

You have a shot at Pitzer College but the other Claremont Colleges would be high reaches

Pomona if you can get your ACT up. You shouldn’t have too much trouble with Pitzer based on your stats (Scripps as well for females in this position).
