Probability that I would get in?

Hey, it would really help me get an idea of how I am doing in terms of my chances of getting accepted. I'm currently a junior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Tech. MOST competitive high school nationally.

The high school I come from is a magnet school in northern VA, in which all classes are honors. (It's a tough school!)

If I left out any key information please tell me! My parents are saying that if I don't get at least a 2200 on the SATs, I wouldnt be able to get in. Thanks

Will my chances increase dramatically if I ED it?

i think you have a pretty good chance. I know A lot of people who got in with less than 2200...if you're worried with your score just take 'em again (easier said than done, i know) and you still have another year (i'm guessing) so if you pull up your GPA a bit it will make you even more competitive, but otherwise i'd say, because you're instate, you're chances are quite good. It is my personal opinion that chances are slightly better for ED if its where you realllly want to go because i don't think the applicant pool is AS tough. There are people here that are more in the know than me, however, but i still say very good chance :)

You're getting in. At TJ every year the GPA "cut off" is like 3.6-3.65. UVA is very generous to us. I don't think your SATs will be a problem, but you can retake them if it will make you feel better. And I do not think you need to apply ED. Go to Long's website this year for stats of people that got in. If you don't have it, I'll PM it to you. I don't want to publicly post a website full of 2006's names and stats.

oh yeah....i just remembered...

the one reason why you may want to retake SATs is to be in the running for echols. other than that though, i think you're fine.
