I got into CPP with honors and I would really like to go but my mom is worried about the area. To any college students out there, is Pomona as bad as they portray it online?
CPP is divided from the main part of the Pomona by 2 freeways so a bit isolated. The campus is closer to some very nice residential areas such as Walnut, Diamond Bar, Covina, San Dimas etc… There a some nice safe areas of Pomona and some not so nice. To put you Mom’s worries at ease, I suggest you visit. As always, all students should be aware of their surroundings when going anywhere. I am a proud CPP alumni and I live about 10 minutes away from campus.
You can also use Google maps to get an idea of what the area around campus looks like.

Visited the campus yesterday. Beautiful! Surrounding areas seemed nice- suburban. Did not go into Pomona itself. We were impressed with the campus and area.
