Processed Applications incorrect?

I was checking my app status, and found this:

Admission Term Application Preference Date Created
Fall 2010-2011 Not entered Dec 07, 2009

Smith's site states that I "will now see your name, address, application data, and application requirements. The requirements table contains all of the information that is required to complete your Smith application. When a document has been received in our office, you will see the date it was received in the Received box. (If it has not been received, you will either see an "N" or no date.)"

My school has honestly been screwing up my transcripts and recs left and right, with several telling me that they haven't received certain pieces. Should I be worried? I'm going to speak with my guidance counselor and find out what's up.

It can sometimes take a while for application info to be entered into the system. Someone has to sit there and enter each piece for each applicant so you can imagine how time consuming this is. You should definitely check with your home school and make sure everything is good on their end, and then if a week goes by and you don’t see anything, call Smith and check, though what they will probably tell you is that it takes time for things to show up on the website and that you should just wait and see.

We did exactly that. We knew stuff had been submitted. Finally called. “Don’t worry” or something like that. A week later it was posted.

I would definitely go to your guidance counselor first and make sure that the school sent everything it was supposed to send. Find out when they sent it, too, if you can, so that you’re able to tell if it should have arrived by now.

And if the school has done its job, then it doesn’t hurt to call Smith in a week if nothing changes about your app. status by then. I finally called today, after nervously waiting for two weeks to see if my Common App. supplement would show up on BannerWeb, and they were very nice about everything. First they told me to fax a copy, but then they called me back to tell me they had it. Not too scary, and now I can rest easy! :D
