Professor John Brekke Named to National Academy

<p>The USC School of Social Work was honored by the naming of Professor John Brekke as a Fellow of the American Academy of Social Welfare. He was one of only 11 named this year.</p>

<p>Professor Brekke holds the Frances Larson Chair of Social Work Research. The academy is the first national society honoring excellence in the research and practice of social work. It was established in 2009.</p>

<p>The Robert Johnson Foundation has selected Professor Brekke to receive a grant of $400,000 to study mental health system transformation in the United States. Brekke is among 16 scholars in the nation to receive Robert Johnson Foundation awards.</p>
