Any professor recommendations for:
Chem 115
Physics 170
Math 116

would be appreciated.

For 116 there’s only one section, so you either take it with Nicoara or you don’t. Nicoara is a great teacher (at least at the graduate level).

Prof recs for:
ECON 001
MATH 114
easy writing seminar?

Thanks!! :)

I’m pretty sure both Phys 170 and Chem 115 only has one section too…Chem 115 is honors intro chem right? it used to be Chem 015…

As for the writing seminar, the one that I took, Human Experimentation with Professor Andria Johnson was quite great. Don’t know whether she is teaching that again though.

TevashSzat, I believe you are correct about Chem 115. BTW, my son is entering Vagelos in the fall.

Eww…I just looked up the Chem 115 professor and its Blasie. I have heard some really BAD things about him…

@212DAD

Any idea of how big the incoming Vagelos MLS class is? You should know by the time Ponzy sends out the scavenger hunt groups…which actually might not be until August now I think about it.

Don’t know the Vagelos size yet

Econ 001 is only taught by Stein, I’m pretty sure. She’s a baller.

Easy writing seminar? Urbs.

Econ is taught by Stein and Spiegel. I’ve heard good things about Stein though, so I’ll go with her.

What’s urbs? I don’t think it’s being offered this fall

Thanks for the tips!

Stein or bust. Everyone loves Rebecca.

I had Nicoara for a different undergraduate math class last Fall. I second her being a great teacher. In addition, she is readily available to help with things you don’t understand office hour wise and easy to approach.

Penn Course Review.
Let me say it again: Penn Course Review

Also, @212DAD: my engineering friend took math 116 and it took her hours upon hours for the problem sets. She was always working on them. Unless you did things like math competitions or qualified for USAMO or something or just really love math, it’s going to be really challenging, and you might prefer math 114 (also she said most of her classmates were planning on being math majors).
