Um, is there anyone else on here (female, specifically) who does not harbor some kind of princess-y fantasy about prom?

:) Just Wondering...

Does this warrant a simple yes or no response?

Yes

I second that.

Yes.

Prom is pretty lame.

Yep. Prom's a dance. Wa-hoo.

Nope. This thread ain't for me ;)

yep. in the end, its only a dance. and a dance will always be nothing more than a dance. just like all the other dances, where kids get drunk, high, hyper, sugar-filled, and then some genius gets the bright idea to dress them up and put them in a room together for 4 hours. :)

I agree. Prom is a dance where everyone spends too much money on looking ridiculous.

Waste of time and money, stay home an enjoy peaceful serenity.

I used to think that it'll be nice to dress up in something pretty and all, but after doing it once, I decided that my aching feet weren't worth it.

lol...... :)

I'm in college and still don't get prom. I didn't have an actual prom in HS (I went to a small private school), but I did go to one school's private formal/prom (you had to pay a certain amount to attend or be invited by someone who did pay, but then you didn't get to eat or anything). The guy that brought me didn't dance, so I just stood around and was bored the whole time.

Sadly, one of the organizations I'm in has turned it's end of year party (usually semi-formal), into a full on prom! The girls were complaining that the guys didn't dress up enough, so they schemed until it turned into this.
