Prom!!

But prom is so much fun..

pretty dresses and fabulous shoes...an excuse to get nails/hair done and get another cute clutch. Taking pictures with all your friends and seeing everyone else get all dressed up. ....At least that's my favorite part. hahaha.

SENIOR prom is going to be the best! I was really really careful picking out my dress this year because I wanted my dress next year to be even better :)

^wow. I envy your enthusiasm for this kind of mindless thing. (no sarcasm) only coz I'm trying to work myself up to going to prom and actually enjoy it coz I really want to experience everything I can.

Totally going! With my girlfrienddd =)

I completely agree with Smile614!!

If I get asked I'm going I guess.

Here is what I love about formal school dances and sorry if this comes off as cocky, but every girl from my school wears tacky-ass wack-ass dresses. I'm talking super tacky with sequins and glitter and neon colors. So I kind of like showing up in my classy dress with my pearls... that's the only enjoyment I get out of formal dances. I can dress myself well and I like dressing up.

You guys have prom every year of high school? Ours is only reserved for seniors. That's why it will be the one dance I do go to, ever in my life.

But I'm super glad there are others on here who feel the same way that I do about dances! Everyone looks at me like I'm crazy when I tell them my opinion.

i'll think about it, if i have $80

I'm kind of excited because it's fun to be with my friends and then go clubbing afterwards, but I'm kind of worried that I won't be able to bring my boyfriend because he's 21 and I'm not sure what my school's rules are concerning the ages of dates.

our school prom is only for juniors and seniors. And seeing that i'm a senior.. of course I'm going! :D

I know it's like three months away but I'm still really excited. I love dressing up and seeing other people dressed up too. I'm not that psyched about the dancing part as ppl at my school seem to possess the inability to NOT dance with looking like they're having sex on the dance floor but i love everything else about prom :)

the fact that i'm a girl and love dresses may also have something to do with this.

Lawl... I'm only going to prom because it was the deal I made with all of my pals so they'd quit bugging me every single dance prior to that to go. I have not gone to a dance ever, so thus the nagging. But yeah, it's like, "If you shut up I'll go to prom!"

Though I could just ditch prom as well...

i'm going! i actually just spent three hours looking for a prom dress, but i couldn't find a single one i liked.

JakaAmalgam! I made that same deal with my friends! Ever since freshman year they were always like "Come to Homecoming, come to Formal" blah blah blah... But I always made up some lame excuse like it was my dog's birthday or something [and one year it actually was!]

Wow guys, really? You only experience high school once, so why not make the best of it? Prom is for fun and it's not just about "listening to music while dressing up like a tool."

seems like going alone would be rather sad

Think about it this way: Prom and its after-parties are going to be the last lame HS parties in your life. Then comes the true meaning of partying: College (although some colleges do have lame ones)

i'm not going for religious reasons, despite all the pressure my friends put on me (one girl even asked me to go with her just to get me to go, lol); its just not my thing though

Yeah, not my thing either. Plus I'd rather not see people grinding on each other. I'm just not the partying type as in clubbing-like partying. I'd rather just chill at home with friends goofing around playing stupid games, watching cheesy movies that we like to make fun of, trying to prank each other, water balloon/shaving cream fights, bonfires, etc. That's my type of party.

^ i love bonfires especially by the beach which are really hard to find where i live

I don't know if i'm going. There is a fall out boy/all time low/metrostation concert that might be the same night. I'd rather go to the concert!

Ok then, look at it in a different way: If you have something better to do than spend your last time (well, not really last, but last fun HS moment) with your friends at a fun party, then don't go.
If you don't have anything better to do, and you/your parents can afford the tickets/clothes, then go.
If not, then just stay in your house in CC
is everyone happy now? :)
