if you are on the 5th floor, most of the rooms have dormers (slanted ceilings where the windows are) so it kinda limits your space/furniture. otherwise it’s very social, but its really nice to have your own room to go back to.

not sure why these are the most sought after. frankly life usually revolves around your own dorm and/or rpcc/appel

Agree with ResurgamBell. Why was everyone dying for CKB and especially Mews? There’s nothing special about them. Dickson is amazing if you have a single - I’d be ecstatic if you got that. Believe me, there will be NO shortage of interacting with others just because you have a single, but you’ll be so grateful to be able to shut your door and be by yourself sometimes when you need to.

they are most sought after because they are new

in terms of where the action is these dorms suck.

I mainly wanted Mews because I work out everyday and its across the field from what I was told was the best athletic complex on the campus. Plus when I came for pre-frosh weekend I stayed with someone in one of those dorms for the first day and it was really nice (my favorite part was the bathroom).

Does anyone know if Dickson has wi-fi yet? Last time I went up there you still had to use an ethernet cable.

i dont think any of the dorms are going to be having wi-fi anytime soon. well i guess mews is closest to the appel fitness center but i wouldnt say that appel is the best athletic complex. most prefer teagle or helen newman.

it’s funny how many people take on the cold with just gym shorts and a jacket just so they wont have to change at the gym.

I was actually talking about helen newman; isnt mews right across the field from it?

Every dorm was set up with wi fi last year. At they were in the low rises, so Im pretty sure Dickson should have it now.

Mews is across the field yes but so is Appel. Every dorm is only a short walking distance to the gyms.

sorry forgot to do the quote thingy

^i remember signs being posted around dickson saying that wireless would be installed sometime during october 08. that never happened. not sure if the lounges have it or not though.

Hopefully they are setting it up now

court and bauer are closer. as is balch.

wifi in the dorms? do you mean in the rooms or in the lounges?

everywhere. In the beginning of the year you basically depended on ethernet because wifi sucked in the rooms. But during second semester they installed more units in my dorm. They were supposed to go all wifi by the beginning of this year.

landline is still my preferred when in my dorm.

the beginning of the 09-10 year
