@Red29soxfan15 Goodluck to you too! Hoping things turn well and I dont need to apply anywhere else!
@ClubAcres The website says results will be sent out by 15th December but they could post it from Friday to Monday. I guess they’ll email us >.< The closer the time gets, the more impatient I feel!

I’m applying to Smith under RD. I attended Smith’s Fall Preview event back in November and I loved it. I sat in on two classes, and the professors were really engaging. I’d love to send in my app asap but the supplement is the only thing holding me back, lol.
Good luck to those of you soon receiving decisions!

@ClubAcres Ohh. Yes, they’d probably contact the gc. And I do wonder as well. My gc used to work in an admissions office in a uni in Cali, and he told me that they would mail out the decisions for four days or more, so if someone got a decision, but you didn’t, you shouldn’t be too worried. He said the decisions would probably be available from the 12th itself, but that geographical locations and everything would also play a part in who finds out their decisions first. He told me (and I quote) “DO NOT go on the internet and check to see who has gotten their decisions yet because that will just mess with your mind. So just wait for your own decision email.”

Like @Zealous184 said, hope for the best, prepare for the worst. haha

@LilySparks, it says “Downloaded” on mine as well. Check your commonapp again, under My Colleges> Smith College> Recommenders and FERPA
Don’t worry. It might just be a glitch as well. You never know.

@h10322 Don’t worry too much! Hopefully, it goes well.

Good luck everybody! :)

@collegefountain Ah! Good luck to you as well. Haha, I know. I had a hard time with the supplement but once I decided what to write about, it was an easy process. Good luck with the application as well as your supplement!

@Zealous184 probably the house community, science classes, and art museum (but it is all great)

I applied ED I and I am in the process of freaking out! I’m from Washington State, but I visited twice, once to tour and once to interview. When I first stepped onto campus, I just knew Smith was for me. The campus is beautiful, of course. My Google search history is full of “Smith College Winter” because it somehow looks even more beautiful when covered in snow. But, what really sealed the deal was the community. I don’t know if anyone else had this experience, but every time I visited, a random student would just talk to me. Then, next thing I knew we had been talking for half an hour. At a local event for prospective students, I had a similar experience where alumnae were exceptionally friendly. Not only were the women I met interesting, but they were interested in me and what I had to say. I could go on and on about this school, like it is a dream.

Another note: are any applicants from all-girls high schools? I have been at an all-girls school since fifth grade with the exception of ninth grade.

Hi! I’m an international student from Canada and I’m applying to Smith RD. I’m really excited but I’m a bit nervous because my SAT was not too great (I had to familiarize myself with the test in about a week’s time as I go to a really intense international school - we do the International Baccalaureate). I am fairly good at writing essays and stuff so I’m hoping that and my recs will back me up… we’ll see, I guess? I really want to be at women’s college next year!

They are test optional. You don’t have to submit your SAT scores. Your GPA is more important. Best luck!

@ArtsyGirl13 Yay, I’m hoping I get accepted. Smith is my dream and I dont even know how happy I’d be to get in

@EvanElizabeth Haha, same. I know exactly what you mean! I’ve visited twice and both times, I fell in love with Smith. I love Smith- words cant express how much I love it!
As for being from an all-girls high school, nope. I’ve never been in an all-girls’ school so being at a women’s college is something I’m excited and nervous about. But frankly, that doesn’t even bother me :3 My only dream is to get in right now haha.

@lavvie13 Hi! I’m doing the IB too but I’m not an international so I don’t have to send in my SAT score (but I did anyway. Not too great- 1950) I know what you mean, my biggest regret is not preparing for the SAT before IB because IB just takes up so much time ._.
Good essays are an integral part of a college application so writing something that describes you will really help. Let it show something that colleges can’t tell about you by looking at the other info on your application
Good luck!

@xxx16yz They’re test optional for US Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

I have seen photos on instagram from last year of emails dated “December 13, 2013” with congratulatory messages. Dec. 13, 2013 was a Friday. This is why I am thinking Dec. 12, 2014 (Fri.) could possibly be the date you all can log on to BannerWeb to see your decisions. My D has exams next week and may opt not to log on until exams have ended.
Good luck to all of you!

@h10322 I would not worry too much about a few Bs in your senior year in AP classes, assuming you have a strong record and application. But I understand how you feel. My D is so anxious. I hope you get good news this/next week!

@ClubAcres I’ve got exams the week after so I’m just really hoping things work out for the best. I have a feeling that the results might be out this friday as well but let’s see. Praying for good news for all of us

GUYS! THEY ARE SENDING OUT ADMISSION DECISIONS ON THE 12TH! Check your emails

Oh! I got the email too. They said they’d send the results on the 12th. Good luck everybody!

I’m so nervous now. Don’t know how I’ll wait three more days! I just went through my common app and supplement and all the other stuff I sent, just to make sure there were no glitches haha. Darn it, this is going to be a long wait. I have a math test tomorrow; better concentrate on that instead I suppose.

My D got the email and is now so nervous - so am I! They said decisions online after 6pm on the 12th and that they will mail acceptances and deferrals only on the 12th. My daughter wants to wait until she has taken her math exam to find out. I think that’s Tuesday. Ugh!

@Zealous184 good luck!

Good luck to all of the other ED applicants as well! Feel free to reach out to me if any of you have any questions (I’m a neuroscience major on the pre-med track and also an intended museums concentration and art history minor).

Guys/Beautiful Potential Women of Smith!

I don’t know how I’m going to get through the next, oh, 69 hours…

@ClubAcres my, that’s quite a dilemma. I’d explode if I had to wait till Tuesday haha. I’d rather just find out and get it over with.
Hope the two of you receive great news Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
