"provisionally admitted to the major" meaning

I got admitted to SJSU and I applied for computer science, but I was wondering if this message meant I got accepted for my major but I have to keep my grades above a C- or if it means that I got in but not for my major.

“Congratulations! I am pleased to inform you that you have been provisionally admitted to the major you selected on your application to San José State University for the Fall 2016 term. Welcome to the Spartan community!”

Also on a side note if I wanted to change my major to software engineering and a minor in computer science would I still get priority classes / benefits that I would have gotten if i got accepted for my major of computer science?

… it seems you’re in the major. I mean, how else can you read it???

As for what the requirements are (min grades), that must be elsewhere. As for switching, that answer isn’t here on CC but will come from the mouth of someone in the CS dept at SJSU.
