Provost Scholarship Question

Does anyone know what the minimum requirements are to qualify for the Provost? I can’t find any information on it on the IU website. Other schools tend to post the information since these are typically based on GPA and Test scores. I know they range from $1k to $8k but I can’t find anything that provides the scale.

Also, I know the Selective Scholarships are hard to get but when they are saying a demonstrated financial need, if your expected family contribution is greater than the cost of attendance, I’m assuming that alone would probably knock us out of the running even though my D was invited to apply.

There is no scale for the Provost.
Basically, it’s just competing against others and is based on their stats. So Office of Scholarships will hand out awards based on where you fall in comparison to others.

I thought the Provost was an automatic award based on GPA and Test scores, is there not at least a minimum on who is even considered? Even if its just the bottom award of $1 k is there a minimum GPA and SAT/ACT needed?

It is automatic. However, there is no minimum SAT/GPA. For comparison, I had a 4.75 weighted GPA, 32 ACT, and 2120 SAT, and I got $11k per year. (OOS)

Can you receive a larger scholarship if you took a recent standardized test and your score went up?

Potentially @Ocho85cinco

@rossbusiness sounds like you received the Dean’s scholarship not the Provost, The Dean’s is the OOS one that has a max of $11k, the Provost is for instate and has a max of $8k. I’m assuming both work similarly in how they are distributed.

We just submitted my D’s selective scholarship app this weekend but I’m not really holding out a lot of hope that she will get any of those. She is an education major so there is a chance she could get something small from the School of Education.

@dcolosi Oh, I know that. But yeah they both do kind of work the same. But to get the 8k for instate maybe the requirements are lower than what I needed for out of state.
