PSAT 2010 Wednesday General Discussion

I also chose appealing but problematic.

Anyone else feel like they killed the PSAT?

For the curtail one, I put the word (forget exactly which one) that means to destroy or stop or get rid off, because it said “most” of the employees/money was gone or something like that, so if most of it’s gone, you can’t curtail it, you have to stop it. hopefully i’m right haha

So if a lot of people don’t do well on the CR, will the curve be altered? Or will the 80, 77, 72 thing still go on?

Wait, for the NY court & other court (examples), I put the answer that started with “attempt”. It was an attempt to fix the court system. I can’t remember what letter it was, but is that what you guys are saying?

but passage 1 didnt really bash it…

On the math problem where the answer was 5/3 would it have been acceptable to write out
1.66??? I’m panicking.

^^^^^So you put eradicate? I did too, but I believe it’s wrong.
^^^If you mean for lines 18-19 I put 2 that showed that they were combatting.
^Don’t think so, I checked for it I believe.

1.66 or 1.67 would be fine.

does anyone remember the question with “facile” as a possible answer? was that an answer?

also, does anyone know why he said showed several times?? i don’t think it was A (to show something about genetics), but rather, I think it was something about putting humans in their place? idk… !

also, the vending machine: i put however, as

1.66, 1.67, and 5/3 are all acceptable answers

Edit: Nvm. It’s if you put .67 or .66

for the NY court problem, was the answer E??

yea i thought it was to show humans place in the universe or something

^Yes, I agree.

^ I agree too. That took me a while though

Critical reading requires prior knowledge of vocabulary whereas math requires a basic set of math skills to ace… Writing, meh. You just have to know what “sounds wrong” by paying attention to grammar when reading stuff…

^^^^ I concur

Did anyone get E for the felines Improving Sentences question? And A for the jury question talking about what would happen if they saw a criminal’s previous record?

What was the question asking about repetition of “showed” asking? I remember a question about repetition where I put something about the extent of humans’ cognitive abilities, but I don’t remember anything where “showing man’s place in the universe” was an answer.
