I also want to know what “commanded” means. Can someone tell me?

MN 210. our cutoff is typically 213/215 .

I think the poster meant “commended.” This is a recognition for high scorers on the test but who don’t qualify for Semifinalist/Finalist.

Scores in Arizona have arrived, my sons HS DVHS handed them out today…

smartkookie, my son took PSAT in both freshman and soph. year. As a freshman, he asked his GC how he can take it. They signed him up for the Saturday date since all freshman had to take ACT Plan or Explore (can’t remember which) on that Wed. For his soph year, his school offered PSAT to any soph who wants to take it.
My son improved his score by 30 points to 230 in his junior year so it was clearly worth the time and money to take it early for him.

My Illinois junior scored 240. First time that he took it but met with tutor over summer to take and review practice tests.

I got mine today - 226 (MI)

Score breakdown:
Reading - 73
Math - 73
Writing - 80

My Dad got mine today. I cant check it untill i finsih the semster.
sigh

hey kyp as a Dad that just feels wrong… unless there is more to the story. Why is it punishment for something?

I live in Alabama and have seen a lot of people on here have gotten their psat scores. Has anyone in Alabama gotten theirs yet?

I am so confused. Is the commended cutoff 200 or does it vary? I have seen both statements. My son got a 203 this year (huge and needed improvement for him), and I am hoping that is enough for commended. It would be a huge boost for his confidence. But of course, we are very proud of him either way!

you need a 202 so he will be commended but not national merit.
