I think it’s useless to try to look at the Prepscholar chart or even the concordance table to try to figure out cutoff scores. The best way, in my opinion is to be aware of what percentile one has needed to be in in the past to earn national merit in one’s state. If this year’s score places one well within that range, then things are looking good. For example, in some states a selection index score in the 98th percentile is enough almost every year for NMSF. So if we can get enough data, we can find the break point for the 98th percentile, and people will be able to make a guess as to their state’s cutoff. (They will release this information soon enough, but I want it now!).
Just use the three scores given at the top, and I try to put the info in chart form if we get enough data.

For thinking about National Merit, people need to list their Selection Index score, otherwise it will be hard to predict cutoffs without calculated each person’s SI manually.
