**PSAT Discussion Thread 2015**

I could call the girls’ school and get the scores tomorrow, but just to be difficult, I’m going to chill out and wait until they tell me what they got. I’m beyond amused at the entire tempest in a teapot…

I just logged into my DD collegeboard PSAT account and her score was there!!! It’s in now!

I know the students posting here have shown good humor about trying to get scores early, so this is definitely not meant for them. However, other students may want to remember that the GC they harass tomorrow will be writing their recommendations next fall. Do you really want to develop a “high maintenance,” “expects special treatment” reputation with folks from whom you may need many favors next year? I’ve never worked in a high school, but I can tell you that at universities, special snowflakes are not appreciated and tend to get their phone calls returned a lot more slowly (not in a petty way, but on the theory of “oh geez, dealing with Suzy Snowflake’s (or her parents) drama always takes forever and I’ve only got 15 minutes before my next meeting,” better wait until I have more time tomorrow." So when your GC tells you that they can’t do it for everyone, so they won’t do it for you – please smile and say “I figured as much, but it was worth a try.” I agree that it’s ridiculous to give it to the school before the student, but College Board seems to do a lot of things for no discernible reason.

I do think that it would be helpful for next year’s juniors to be able to look back and see if summer program invites really do correspond to that year’s test scores. I’d also be interested in knowing if there is a regional component as well. Might some of the students who thought they did well (or actually did do well as sophomores), but did not get TASP or Stanford, be in an area from which those programs don’t get many participants? I highly doubt that my junior S was in the top 1% (didn’t prep other than taking the practice test and didn’t realize that he was actually supposed to check to see what he missed and why until two days beforehand), so no invites from Stanford, Harvard, or TASP is not surprising. However, he did get the Columbia summer program invite. We live in the Southeast.

I tried on son’s CB account and it doesn’t have anything there

DS17’s scores are there.

My scores are in. Just saw them on CB College QuickStart. But I had to log out and log back in before they showed up.

@3scoutsmom you just see last years scores?

my daughter’s scores are there. Pleasant surprise.

My son’s scores are up. Would never have thought to look if I hadn’t seen this thread, so thank you all for keeping it going.

I have not been following this thread, but I thought the consensus was that this new PSAT was ‘easier’ than old PSAT so scores may be higher?

So now everyone waits until September?

Yes, scores are there.

How to interpret these scores. I only saw 2 numbers, math and read/write.

If you click through, you can find the National Merit Selection Index. That is the number that will actually be used as the cutoff for National Merit.

OK—I just went back and tried to toggle over to ‘test questions’ and the entire thing disappeared and now only 10th grade PSAT scores appear. That was odd! Hope the scores do not change by the time they are posted again.

My older daughters scores were there, and then poof. they were gone.

Same here. But I had downloaded my score report, so I can still see most of the information.

Same here. I was reviewing D’s scores and they disappeared.

Once you log in…where to look?

I just logged back in and now it’s only showing 2014. Glad I was able to see it before they caught their glitch

Like others - scores were there and then, poof, they were gone.

@bamadude “My College Quickstart”
It was there but now it is gone.
