Yes, I think you are right that it’s how kids in each state did. Lacking that info until next fall, some people are trying to guess if it will move up or when 99% nationally moves. Last year 99% was 212 and up nationally and the cut off in some state was 209. This year 99% is 214 and up. Two points higher. Would that make your state cut off go higher? I’d say more likely than not IF everything else remains the same.

207 in Oklahoma, any hope to make the cut?

When you log on to your collegeboard PSAT scores, it tells you how you did in each subject nationally and in your state in each subject, but not as a whole. Anyone in Louisiana or anywhere else care to share that info? My D scored a 69 in CR which was 96% in nation and 97% in LA, 72 in math which was 97% in nation and 98% in LA, and 69 in W, 97% in nation and 97% in LA.

Iglooo, ty,ty,ty. That is the precisely the comparison I was looking for.

Wemel, my S’s profile looks like this:

CR-69 Nat 96%ile AZ 96%ile
M-71 Nat 97%ile AZ 97%ile
L-69 Nat 97%ile AZ 96%ile

This would clearly suggest that his score of 209 would not fall in the top 1% in AZ.

Thanks azcpamom!

If anyone wants 2009 scores, I have it as an attachment to an e-mail. Private message me and I will send it to you.

azcpamom - I don’t necessarily agree with that assessment. In each category, maybe, but the score as a whole may be a different story. Students may score high in CR but low in Math?

80 - Math
73 - Critical Reading
71 - Writing
224 - Composite

New Jersey.

CR 80 M 65 W 71
Composite 216, Illinois

ABSOLUTELY OVERJOYED with CR, meh on the Writing, not thrilled but unsurprised with math.

The past few years have been 214, 214, 214, and 213, so I might just eek by. Agh. So many emotions. =)

anyone else find the math a bit “too” easy?

that is not completely true. Each sub may not be on top 1% but the overall may still be on top 1%.

GC is a liar. No scores today.

Greed: No, math is my worst SAT subject…

We are in AZ. S received a 213. I think this should be enough for NMSF based on prior years, but I’m not sure.

You all are too smart for your own good.
CR - 69
M - 71
W -67
Composite: 207. considering I didn’t study I think this is decent.
Freshman year I took a practice SAT and got a 1850, sophomore year PSAT was 190.

School website says scores tomorrow!

Past experiences with school’s snail mail says Friday/Saturday… at the earliest.

California~

CR: 77
M: 80
W: 80
Total: 237

Gah, I don’t know how I missed that vocab question. It was so obvious when I looked at the test after seeing my score… (Passage questions can be a little unpredictable, so I’m fine with missing one of those.)

Damn. I made a lot of stupid errors.

CR: 74
M: 71
W: 59
Total: 204

I get my scores on Wednesday, so I don’t yet know the percentiles or what I got wrong. I did find out the raw score through other means, though:
CR - 80 M - 73 W - 23
Total 226

I don’t know why I got lowest on the math section, since that’s what I’m best at - although CR was so easy this year.
When I took it last year, I got 201, with math being my best score.

EDIT: New York
