214 in North Carolina. Pretty mediocre, and exactly the same as my sophomore year score. 214’s been the cutoff score in NC for the past two years, but it was 215 three years ago. Here’s hoping…

superbad94 - What were your state percentiles?

When are the new cutoffs for semifinalists by state published?

^September of next year.

When are the new cutoffs for semifinalists by state published?

Thanks! My son is in DC and I think if the scores go up more than one point 0ver 221 we are out! Here’s hoping…

I got a 211 in Alaska. I understand Alaska’s cutoff score is pretty volatile because not very many people take the test here. Do I have a shot at being a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist?

214 in TX which usually has a cutoff of 215-216

70-M (690 nov sat)
80-CR (680 nov sat)
64-W (780 nov sat)

weird how overall score was very similar, but CR and W were basically reversed…

Has centerville, oakwood and beavercreek hs posted the psat results? It is already dec 13, 2010?

Just got ours today in Illinois.
Critical Reading - 76
Math - 76
Writing Skills - 80
Composite - 232

Overall, not as great as I expected because of some silly mistakes, but it’ll do.

How safe am I for qualifying for semifinalist for getting a 222 in California? The past four years’ cutoff scores have been 219, 218, 217, and 217 respectively.

My LD son who is classified with a disorder of written expression refused to have us file for accommodations for the PSAT and refused completely our offers of tutoring, either in a class or privately. He also refused to study. Despite all of this, he scored a 207 (73R,76M and 58W), which may be high enough for a commendation. Since he also doesn’t believe in homework, his GPA wouldn’t withstand semi-finalist scrutiny anyway so it’s just as well. His GC believes that in his case a commendation will be sufficient (along with his high SAT s’s and AP scores) to show collegs that he is capable and bright, despite his 3.0 (unweighted) in a curriculum of APs and Honors classes.

The best part is that he’s actually looking through his test booklet. Sadly, he found a math problem where he did all the work correctly but bubbled in the wrong answer.

Congrats to all of you who are eligible for semi-fi status.

I understand it’s human nature to brag, and posting your scores is fine, but saying you are disappointed in either yourself or your child (seriously?! disappointed in your own child?!) for “only” getting 230 or so is just obnoxious.

Because some of these people truly sicken me, I’ll just say I’m from New York, I got 99th percentile (meaning I could’ve anything from around 210-240) and I’m very likely to be a semifinalist. But I’m not gonna post my actual scores because some people just take this crap to a whole new level.

For those of you who posted just to inform everyone for educational purposes and not to brag, good luck guys! (:

As for everyone else, go tell your sob story about only getting 230 somewhere else…
Especially if you’re a parent, because I’m sure glad you aren’t mine. I guarantee if my parent told me they were disappointed in anything over a 200 (actually, if they were disappointed period) I’d get really depressed and feel horrible about myself. So great job, guys! You made your own kid, not to mention many others who may have scored lower, feel like *****.

Yes, yes, yes… Resounding YES!!! My parents could care less about this kind of thing (My mom didn’t even know that the AP program gave college credit, and she doesn’t really know what the NMS is, not that I’m gonna’ make it based on the curve, I think), but it’s totally unwarranted to complain about any score over 200. Thank you for expressing that much needed statement on this thread!

I don’t know about those schools, but Kettering Fairmont is distributing results today, so I would assume those bordering district schools would have results in as well.

I live in DC/MD area and took PSAT in October, but have not received my scores. I received a postcard invitation yesterday to apply for Telluride Association Summer Program (TASP) which apparently receives PSAT scores from College Board to send invites. Has anyone else received this postcard? If so, what was your PSAT score? Anyone know what subset of PSAT scorers receives an invite from TASP–does it correlate in some way with selection score index by state or NMSF status? Thanks.

Hurrah! Have FINALLY received my scores. :3 Thank goodness–my nerves couldn’t take it any longer!

235–80/76/79. Funnily enough, that was exactly what I predicted. My math -1 came from a right answer that I decided not to bubble (of course.) >.< Still, I’m feeling pretty fantastic!

^congrats!
i got mine today after a long and nerve wrecking wait!

I live in CT and go to a public school so I think I will be fine for semifinalists since for the last two years its been 218/219 :)

I still have yet to receive my PSAT results
I got an e-mail from Collegeboard a few days ago saying my score reports were available online, so I was expecting to get my results either yesterday or today. They never came.

Maybe tomorrow? Hopefully by Friday.
