do you think a 219 from ny will be eligible for nmsf?

^Depends on your state. In the Northeast (Massachusetts, Maryland, etc.), 219 won’t go. In CA, you’re on the border. In Nevada, you’re way over the cutoff.

^ He said New York.

Does it go by the state you Live in, or the state your School is in?
My son lives in Maryland and goes to school in DC.
In any event I know his score is not high enough, just wondering!
202 I think
66 CR
69 M
67 Writing
And I am especially proud because he did it with no accommodations.

Very interesting question.

From the PSAT student guide:

There is a selection unit for schools in DC; the cutoff for semifinal status is quite high (220+).

The access code is still there for me. So are your scores just there with no access code?

I still don’t have my scores. My finals are this week, too, so I doubt my school will hand it out.

I just checked the collegeboard site and it says that the access code is needed until January 15th so I am not sure why Renomama can check scores without it

We still haven’t received our scores at my school. UGH!! I’m getting antsy!

My son got:
W-69
M-70
CR-63
Total=202
18 points jump from sophomore
I’m very proud of him because I know that he studied hard and tried his best all by himself.

Reading: 80 (99th percentile)
Math: 64 (88th)
Writing: 71 (98th)
215 total, 99th percentile
I was pretty happy with mine, they were similiar to my real sat scores which I took about a month later, but reading was a little higher and math a little lower.

Randomly received scores in the mail today. My GC had told me Monday, so I was surprised to get them today.

240, 1 CR wrong, 99 percentile, VT

Does anyone else think the quickstart program is strange and useless? I spent a significant amount of time filling out the stupid personality survey to see what I would get. I would very disappointed regarding the informational support they give.

231

2 wrong CR
1 wrong Writing and 1 wrong math

Also got a 240, PA. I don’t know any exact stuff, because my score report got lost in the mail, but my guidance counselor e-mailed me, just telling me the scores.

@Quickster: Yeah, it seems kind of useless in general.

Just an observation, but scores seem to be way higher all-round this year, on here and especially at my school. It seems to have been an easier test, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see noticeable jumps in cutoffs this year :s

^It may have been easier, but I think the grading curve was a bit harsher to make up for it. Let’s hope that the cutoffs don’t jump! :)

Is everyone suppose to receive their psat scores in the mail? My school is nonchalant, they received the scores already and they haven’t told me, I am anxiously waiting for my scores. Should I just call collegeboard and tell them that my school has the scores but have not told the students? So, they can be generous and tell me my scores.

Should I expect to receive my scores this week?

I don’t think the test was easier; we have roughly the same number of [potential] semifinalists at my school this year. And the grading curve was pretty harsh, so I HOPE that the cutoff scores don’t suddenly increase more than normal.
