^I got a 222 in CA! Haha yeah we’re cutting it a little close. Last year’s cutoff was 219 so it looks like the cutoff this year will be 220 flat, so we made it.

i got 227
cr:80
ma:76
writing:71

thats soo weird. im a fob and i got 80 in cr… i expected 80 in math and 76 in writing and 71 in cr but w.e.
I live in CA will that get me anything or anywhere??

CR - 74
M - 59 (this is actually a major improvement from last year, just sad)
W - 75

Total: 208

I’m pretty happy with my score, even if it’s a fail by CC standards XD. How often are PSAT’s good predictors for your SAT score? I’m taking it for the first time in March…BTW I read that last year commended was 201 (which could go down), so there’s still hope for us zak265 :).

LOL

I had a 160 when I took my PSAT. Luckily my SAT scores turned out higher in the long run.

SeaHawks506, do you have any idea if the cutoff score in our state (WA) EVER goes down? I got a 217…the stupidest mistake in CR brought my score down from an 80 to a 76, thereby ruining my NMF chances Unless there’s any possiblity the cutoff could DECREASE? I feel like it never does…

Well there’s definitely a chance, I mean going down is possible but if the trend is worth anything then it’ll keep the same at the very least. Still you never know, and every year there are states that have decreased cutoffs.

yeah… i’m betting it’ll stay the same though. And i will have missed it by ONE POINT…ie if i’d gotten 1 more question right in ANY section, i’d be in the clear.
Boo
Parents flipped out when they realized I barely missed it.
Hope the rest of Washington’s juniors were stupid this year! That’s what would make the cutoff decrease, right?

I think so, it sounds reasonable that if people in Washington got lower the cutoff would be lower, which is why bad states like Wyoming are barely above 201 (lol)
also I posted a visitor message on your wall, my sister figureskates a lot- she’s 12 but half homeschooled so she can do morning and afternoon sessions

Haha ahhh i wish I lived in a state like Wyoming… minus the part about actually, you know, living in Wyoming, lol.
Yeah I live near Seattle! I used to go up to highland sometimes but now I mostly go to rinks closer to where I live- highland was like 45 mins away, lol. I might know your sister, what’s her name?

her name is selena, she takes lessons with darin hosier

CR- 69(96%)
Math- 80(99%)
Writing- 79(99%)

Total- 228(99%)

I definitely improved each year; freshman year (174) –> Sophomore year (202) –> Junior Year (228). I haven’t prepped prior to the test, I’m studying now. Hopefully I make finalist for Texas

FINALLY GOT MY SCORES :)

217
CR - 76
Math - 66 (I need to work on this)
Writing - 75

I’m in Hawaii though, so I think I’m safe.
This year’s cutoff was 215.
Any chances I won’t make it? :

Do you guys think I’ll make it for California cutoff with a 221?
Last year’s cutoff was a 219, so I’m not really sure if I will make it…

seahawks506- I don’t know her, but i do know Darin, he’s so amusing! lol
Underwaterclouds- I got the exact same scores as you! In each section! Except I live in WA, so I probably won’t make it You will though! Congrats!

when will the official cut off scores be posted?

august/september and they are not posted. You receive confirmation/or lack thereof by mail.

I got 218 in Washington. (Cr:69, M:80, W:69). Do you guys think I’ll make the cutoff? Anyone have any idea how scores this year compare to last year?

The guy who reviewed the PSAT at our HS was from Princeton Review, and he claimed that the cutoff for this year (2010 test for graduating class of 2012) in CA would be 217. I later emailed him about it and asked how he could know - he basically said it wasn’t a guess. I don’t know how he could know, but it’s as close to an answer as we’ll get until next September.

often times students know more than the Princeton review dopes
