229 but I can’t get national merit cuz I don’t have US citizenship

227 from nj… if only my sat scores could be similar. math kills me every time -_-

231 from PA. (76 M, 80 CR, 750 W). 99th for CR and W, but 98th for math. I’d say I was pretty lucky for CR. Cut-off for PA is 214-217. Lowest is 203 in Montana while highest is 224 in either nj or ma.

When do we know commended scholar? I got a 197. Any chance of that being commended? =(

I think that commended is anything in 95th percentile and above, so I’m pretty sure you’ll be commended.

196! I live in Michigan. Will this get me anything? It’s 95th percentile.

220

76 CR
79 WR
65 math

225, Louisiana.
80 CR
75 Math
70 Writing

and then SAT was:
800 CR
770 Math
800 Writing

Sophomore year, I think I got about 190, if I recall correctly. This year I got a 202 but I did terribly in writing.

Took the SAT’s today and I’m hoping I did well!

I’m a Sophomore, and I took a PSAT this year with Juniors because the school offered it to some of the Sophomores. I’m pretty happy with my score, hopefully I can improve it by a decent margin for the NMS next year. :]

CR: 68
Math: 76
Writing: 70
Total Score: 214

I am also a Sophomore and i got a 211. I live in nj. Hopefully i get at least a 15-20 point increase for next year

217 in R.I. Is this high enough to get me anything? I only got one wrong on the math section, but it was a 76

240 b1tc3z

JK 192 i.d.g.a.F

I didnt study… my sis got 211 first try, and she got 2320 on sat

On the bubble based on last year’s cutoff. Live in MA which was 221 (highest along with NJ, DC and MD).

I got a 220 (CR 71, M 80, W 69).
Soph year I got a 226 (CR 80, M 80, W 66).

Can someone explain why you can’t decide after your get your Soph scores to count those for NMS? Why are top students taking the PSAT their Jr year if only for NMS?

186

Went in too cocky, rushed everything and the score tells the story.

231 (80 CR, 73 M, 78 W).
Made two dumb mistakes on math (added some single digits wrong and found the non-shaded area rather than the shaded area like it asked), but I’m alright with this score.

Your scores need to be compared with those of juniors in your graduating class.

But if they curve each year. You could compare my score from my Soph year to the scores of my classmates whether they took the test in the So, Jr or both years.

Let’s be real, if you are scoring 210+ the PSAT your Jr year is a waste of time. You don’t need the prep test your Jr year.

If you can score 210+ as a sophomore, you shouldn’t have any problem doing it again junior year. You’re just mad that your score went down and possibly cost you NMSF.

Obviously. Isn’t it human nature to act upon self-interest?
You make it sound like a bad thing.
