PSAT Scores Class of 2012

Where do you live?

I haven’t gotten a lot of college mail since school started. I got the top schools mail over summer, my aunt (a GC) told me it was because I had a high(ish) soph PSAT score (As far as I’m aware it was in the top 3 of my class, which is kind of sad because it was a 195).

And I would kill for a 214. I’m so nervous, I know I got at least 2 wrong in each section as a whole so I’m really biting my nails.

I’m really nervous, too. Last year (sophomore), I got an 189, which is okay… And I put that I wasn’t a US citizen, which marked me out, so I got no college mail (oops). I corrected that mistake on this year’s PSAT, so I hope that it’ll be okay. On my practice PSAT, I got a score close to 200, which is obviously not high enough for anything, but I think that I did better on the real thing. We’ll see, I guess.

Should we ask our schools on Monday? Last year, my school did not return our test booklets or anything, so…

I live in Massachusetts.

After the sophomore PSAT’s last year, my friend’s son (who got a 175) got tons of mail, and my son (who got 215) got just a little. He gets kind of a steady small trickle of mail this year. I wouldn’t read too much into it!

I agree with prior post. We have not been getting a lot of mail from colleges (recently) and son just received his scores yesterday and it was 239.

Hm I’ve actually been getting a lot of mail, last year i got a 219, hopefully I get over the 220 cutoff for Maryland…

Yeah, my sister got tons of mail, and she got a 135. I think that it may depend on what you put as your college major, too. I put Pre-Pharmacy, which may require slightly higher scores than what I got. Although, I just chalk it up to me accidently putting that I wasn’t a citizen. My family got a big laugh out of that one.

I did get college mail, but it was b/c of the AP program, not the PSAT. All I can do is wait, I guess.

Oh, congrats to s2012d2017! That’s amazing!

I agree, that is an amazing score!

I just checked My College QuickStart and realized that I don’t have the access code yet. D: I’m pretty sure we get our scores tomorrow though - I’m so excited/terrified/anxious!

I know for a fact I get my scores tomorrow and I’m incredibly anxious.

Just got my scores 236, so close to perfect yet not quite there.

Nice job Jenny!

@Jenny: Are you really complaining?

It doesn’t seem I’m getting my scores this week :frowning: But I’m kinda OK with that since I doubt they’ll be above a 205.

228  made the cutoff for nj.

Gosh it seems like just yesterday I was panicking about the cutoff scores for NMS (Class of '09). I’ll post my scores for fun :P

219 PSAT

79 W
69 M
71 CR

And, in case you were wondering, I just made the cutoff :)

Do you think I’ll make the cutoff with a 224 in NJ?

239? That is amazingly high. How did he study for it? what did your son get on his 10th grade test?

Meh, my guidance counselor said today that the school got them the same time as we did, which seems kind of different from everyone else (I’m from NEPA, if that matters). I’m fairly confident of my PSAT scores, think I legitimately could have got a perfect (stupid mistakes excluded, which is never the case on practices). I had a 186 last year, but I did not study/try much.

Does anyone know how much your scores drop to with one-two wrong? It seems like writing may only be to 79 (though that could be with more than one wrong) and math drops to 76 with one.

Good luck to everyone else who hasn’t gotten their results yet.

^^relax! 224 is safe everywhere.
