well i got a letter in the mail that pretty much said the same thing as my online status…you were admitted to eberly summer 2010…nothing about JMC…bad sign i presume?? :(

I got a letter of admission to the program, and I’m on the west coast so I guess that means everybody in between should have gotten theirs…

was anyone rejected?

So are most people like me, i.e. still haven’t received anything?

Those that are accepted,

What did your letter say?

The only letter that I go starts like this:

Congratulations! I am pleased to offer you admission to The Eberly College of Science for summer 2010

There is nothing in the letter about Jefferson Med or the PMM program. I am thinking that this is a rejection from the Med program, but I am not sure. The letter is dated the 23rd and arrived on the 26th.

Anyone else get this letter?

northern…

The letter that my D received in the mail begins this way:

"Dear …,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected for admission to the Penn State Accelerated Premedical-Medical Program, offered in cooperation with Jefferson Medical College…"

It was dated March 21, 2010.

DualDegreeDoc,

Thanks for the info.

It looks like my letter is a rejection for the Med program. I wish they would just tell me I am rejected, instead of congratulating me for getting into the undergrad only program.

northern…

In the future when you are a doctor…and you are about to deliver some bad news to a patient, please remember back to how you feel at this time.

Be kind, be sensitive, but always be honest and straight-forward with them. They will appreciate you for it.

Good luck to you.

Got the official rejection letter for PSU/Jefferson program today. It was dated March 22nd and should have arrived before the letter telling me that I got into Eberly College of Science which was dated march 23rd, but it arrived a day after.

Congratulations to those that go accepted!

I am hoping for better luck at the other programs.

Congratulations to all who were accepted!

I am in my second year with this progam and I love it here. It feels like yesterday when I was reading the posts on this forum about PSU/Jeff, trying to decide if I should apply :). I am looking forward to starting medical school in the fall, but I’m definitely going to miss this place!

I would be happy to answer any questions that people may have about the program. Also, there may be a facebook group for prog weekend pretty soon, so check for that.

iState

yeah the facebook group is already up. also, just realized you were right for class of 2014 since you don’t get the degree until end of 2nd year of med school (unless you come in with a bunch of APs)

Hey guys! I am writing a paper about accelerated medical programs such as PLME at Brown and the seven year program at Boston University and was wondering if you could help me out and answer some of my questions. What are some common themes or characteristics of the students who are in a program like this, such as behaviors, attitudes, beilefs, or race/ethnicity. Would you consider students in these types of programs to be a subculture on campus? Thanks a lot!

People who got in… care to share your stats?

no one cares to share their stats? :(

I did. Can’t force people too.

Well Ill tell you the stats of someone who didnt get in: 36 ACT and 3.97 unweighted GPA…honestly, stats are only important up to a threshold point…the interview is everything after that.
