psu/jefferson

Well I'm leaning strongly towards MIT. However, I can only make my decision if I get into PSU/Jeff - I'm not trying to take anyones spot away, but isntead give myself a little more choice (well at least SOME choice). In fact, I have not researched completely the PSU/Jeff deal and want to learn more about it before making a decision like "i'm going to decline MIT for PSU/Jeff". I hope yours comes in the mail soon!

streetlight:

hey man, I know you from SHP. Akash, right? It's Rounak (rajpatel is my, uh, generic indian name to hide my identity). I'll see you at the interview day

Haha yeah man, what are you taking next semester? That's crazy

PSU just sent me a confirmation they have received my application for the PSU/Jefferson program... on January 18th, when I sent it mid November... anyone else get this confirmation late?

They also said they would notify me by mid Feb of my application status (interview or not i guess?)

man why'd they send this receipt of application so late?! i thought i was getting an interview invitation at first :(

My application receipt was way late. The people at the admissions office ****ed me off a bit too. They were quite female dog-ish.

got an interview invite for feb. 16; they badly screwed up my application but i was able to fix it up; they screw up everyones application, my brother's application was processed by the wrong department and by the time they got it fixed it was too late, o well he got accepted to the hpme program long time ago

seems like most ppl's interview day is feb 16.. how many do they invite?

does anyboyd know how many they invite? according to the info they gave me feb. 16 is th ONLY day they interview, thats works out for me considering my cinncinati interview is 2 days later

akash, probably quantum physics. second choice was psychology. ellen and i signed up for the same thing.

sorry to everyone else reading this that has no clue what I'm talking about.

cool stuff, im doing something biology related. hows ellen doing, one of you two should IM me. you know those guys who collected the SNs on the last day never IMed me, you hear from them?

yeah, I think one of them IMed me, but I had no clue who it was (I only knew our corner), so I think I scared the kid away. you can e-mail me your sn

anybody else hear from psu?

my sn is in my profile

I got a letter from PSU today confirming the recievement of my application and giving me a brochure about the PMM program (6/7 year BA/MD program). It also mentioned that decisions should be mailed out by February 12th, if I recall correctly.

My son also got that letter dated Dec. 12th with PMM information. I keep getting emails about their honors program. Do any one gets that.

I'm being bombarded with those honors program emails!!

This program doesn't seem too bad, but it doesn't seem to have anything special about it and in the long run, I don't know if it will be beneficial. Maybe I just don't see the full ramifications yet and will have to check it out. Why are you guys vying for this program specifically beyond just the guarantee?

The 6-year time span shaves off a lot of $$ for college and also adds two years of salary.

^^^^
I agree.

But is it worth it in the long run? 2 years of college? You only go to college once...
