I've been looking at UC's and I'm not really sure which program is best for me. I'm just looking at a general psychology major.

I am leaning toward UC Davis.

But I want to make sure which school focuses on what aspect of Psychology more.
I would prefer something more like human resources or a therapist/counselor focus.

UC Davis from what I have heard has a great Psychology program. There are even a few specializations within the program, one of which will surely meet your interests.

I would look at each individual school’s psychology major page.
Example: Davis offers a BA in psych, or a BS with either a biological or mathematical focus. Also take a look at the required classes- what suits your strengths and interests, opportunities for a practium, etc. You can even glance into the general catalog and find classes of interest.

Take a look at Minors offered as well- some have psychology specializations.

Internships are vital for gaining HR experience, and research/shadowing/volunteer/paid work is highly recommended depending on what sort of psychology graduate program you are interested in.
“Specialization” will come in during your Masters/PhD degree. Your undergraduate degree will offer a broad span on psychology rather than focusing the entire degree on counseling, etc.

You may actually find some interest in the CSU’s for the focus you want. Many CSU’s offer an HR major with specializations such as management, etc.
