I have been accepted to Purdue CS. However, I hear that they will eventually weed out their students from competitive majors. As I have no computer science background, should I be waiting to get weeded out from CS in Purdue?
CS in the College of Science is direct admit.
It’s engineering that has a competitive transition to major process but even then there is a very high percentage of students who stay in the program. I believe we were told 94%.
So, that means I will be able to keep my position as a student in CS major without any further complications?
As long as you pass your courses with the minimum GPA required you should be fine.
Thank you for your reply. I feel more confident about accepting the offer to Purdue.

Hey, I have been admitted to Purdue FYE… Yayyyy!! However, I was told that I would be doing General Engineering in first year and then specialising in a certain field the following year… Are there any requirements that I must meet before pursuing on my 1st specialisation choice ( Mechanical ) ?? Thank you.
@yw123 Purdue has FYE and transit to major when you finish the first year engineering courses. If your GPA meets 3.23, in general, you should be able to get your first choice of majors. That’s what I heard in PFM day with my S.
