I got admission in ga tech for engg… Now I am confused. Should I choose purdue or ga tech???

@sonal96: which engineering?

Mechanical engg

I am a permanent Resident so could be considered for scholorship

@Sonal96 You got in with 1880 SAT, wow, you must have had awesome Recs and ECs

oh and my writing is 660 not 600

I got an 1880 on the first try.
On the second try my sat scores were as follows
CR 630
M 720
W 700
I also gave ACT . Score 30. ( E 34, M 33)
And yes I had some awesome Recs and decent ECs…

And congratulations!
:D

I think congratulations are in order :)

^^^^Thank you!!!
Hope you get in too!!!

Yes, I too hope that happens!! :D

@pettyofficer… Ohh your lucky…:)

@sonal96 congrats on ur acceptance. :)

FYI - UIUC is a lot harder to get in (especially for Eng) than Purdue. Have none of you considered applying to Michigan? They have a terrific engineering program also. Good luck to all.

Michigan costs quite a lot and is very picky in giving scholarships. I don’t think many here (including me) can afford the full tuition fee. I had written the essay but never applied due to the same reason

@nikrules I don’t think though that GTech will accept me, They have deferred quite a lot this time (24% thats nearly 2880 students) and more are applying day by day (admissions still open till 10th). They have also deferred students with SAT 2300+. I think i only managed to stay afloat due to my brother being a current student.

If they could just see my SAT Subject Tests score instead of my school report…Indian Schooling sucks big time. Getting 90+ in 11th is a dream (at least in my school - no one got a 90+ except one guy in previous batch, but then he went to IIT so it wasn’t a surprise)

Pettyofficer yeah I too feel the same. Though I got 88% in 11th but due to the shift to commonapp this year’s compettn has gone way up so I am not sure either.

And same here with michigan… Costs a lot !!

You got deferred too?
