Purdue Biomed eng or chem eng
How difficult??

bump..........

Do you mean to get into the program? Or how hard is the program as far as course load in such?

Kinglin
Yes I need to know difficult it is since it has an 80% acceptance rate but ranked 9 in engineering. Can u tell me what stats I need? an approximation is needed.

bump.........anyone??

bump............

purdue isn't hard to get into, then it isn't too hard getting into whatever engineering you want after your first year. biomed has the most competition since it has a limit on how many students can take it. the others, i think, aren't extremely difficult at all. The next step is getting all the way through to graduation, which i hear is tough, but if you're willing to work hard, quite doable.

oh forgot to mention, each school of engineering has their own gpa requirements. most are lower 3 somethings, but more competitive things have mid to upper 3 somethings. the more competitive ones are biomed (i think it's the only one where an application is required, everything else, if you have gpa, you're in), then aerospace also has higher requirement, then also maybe industrial and agriculture (i'm assuming those since they have really good ranks). there might be others, i'm sure it's on the website somewhere.

ok, nevermind that last post. i looked up the website, and it has this different kind of grading index called EAI. here's the website:
https://engineering.purdue.edu/ENE/FirstYear/eai

What are you stats? Cause I remember when I went there that since engineering is one of there more well known areas, that it's harder to get into then the rest of the school. I wouldn't say it's to hard to get into. Just a tad harder then say a business major. If you post your stat's I could probably give you a pretty good idea.

Can u tell me my chances at USC and Purdue and what engineering major would be more easier.

Thank you

by the way I am in the Top 10%

I am preferably for Engineering (Biomedical or chemical) if not engineering then Biological sciences or Chemistry.

Yea, I'd say you have a really good shot. Apply as early as you can. Cause the admissions officer there told us that the earlier you apply, the better chance you have of getting in.

could u give me a % chance that would really help
Thank you

I think you will get in...like 90%...if you applied earlier you would have been in for sure...I applied in late August for chemical engg and my GPA was below yours and my SAT was also below yours but I got my acceptance in two weeks. Purdue is really easy to get in...but it's hard to stay in.

cool thanks a lot!! If its that easy why is it ranked so high! sry I dont understand a lot of things

Purdue has an outstanding reputation among practicing engineers, which favorably affects rankings which consider this factor.

Thanks alot EllenF
