Quads for freshmen?

What is the best Quad for freshmens?

Well I can tell you that Roth Quad aka Science and Society on the pick your interests part of the New Student Preferences has Air Conditioning units and no you can’t bring your own :P

Tabler is somewhat of a clone of Roth in terms of look and style(suites). Roosevelt is the most rundown looking part of campus in my opinion(or atleast it used to look good until the campus let it go). Kelly is old and dated looking. H and Mendelson are newly renovated I believe and do look quite nice but are corrider style.

Roth is closet to everything. Kelly and Roosevelt are further away and perhaps the most annoying to go to/from(There is a bus but the path to walk there is pretty ****ty at the moment with construction and the fact one side of it doesn’t even exist). Mendelson and H are about the same distance away from the center of things but the walk isn’t that troublesome as K and R. Tabler is right next to Roth.

Roth has the Roth cafe right next to it but it has crappy food(pretty much fastfood with Wendy’s and California Pizza Kitchen, both of them being disguisting oily crap, even the salads are hazardous to your health). Kelly and Roosevely have the Kelly dining hall which has an assortment of different food options, much better than Roth. H and Mendel have their own food hall as well, nice variety too. Tabler is close to Roth so theres Roth cafe, it does have its own tabler cafe but its hours are ridiculous(opens for a few hours at a time). Theres the sac which is close to Roth for food so that cancels out the crappy choices in the cafe.

Best quad in my opinion? Any that is not Roosevelt.

I lived in Tabler for two years and I think it has the best community. It’s the Art and Humanities Quad so you would need to have an interest in those things in order to live there. In terms of amenities though, Roth has A/C which can be pretty
