Quads

So what's the deal with these?

Have you visited ?

Basically it's just how the dorms and other buildings are grouped together, with North and South quad being the largest and more notable areas.

i meant quad dorm rooms...apparently there are three rooms, containing a common room in the middle for the four people living there. are these good living arrangements?

Oh, my mistake. Yea quads are really convenient if you find three other guys you're comfortable with. With the common room in the middle, it's much nicer to have guests over, you have a bit of extra room so things don't get as cluttered, and despite the fact that you'll have three roommates, having an extra room gives you a bit of privacy when you want it.

It depends on the dorm. Most dorms will have a common room and 2 bedrooms. However, there are some freshman quads in Sorin that are only one big room. I lived in a quint in Walsh last year (3 rooms plus a bathroom) and am in a quad this year. The quint was a bit much, but I'm looking forward to my quad.
