Did they say they were going to adjust the amount of the scholarship in your financial award letter?
See post # 12.
If the OP has another option she’s happier with, I’d let it go.
It is very annoying to have to deal with this stuff. We have had a lot of problems with my DD2’s school. Everyone is happy, nice, wants to help, but direct me to talk to Bob, or Linda, or the FA department, or housing, or registration. I’ve had the same documents resent 2-3 times, and then the school finds them in an ‘extension file’ that wasn’t merged. She had two files in admissions because, well, no one knows (I suspect the athletic department opened one, and then when she applied they opened another). They claim not to have her SSN, but she was awarded FA, so one of the files has the SSN in it. Just frustrating.
My other daughter goes to a school that is 3x the size of this one, and nothing has been lost or misfiled or ‘never received.’ It really can be done smoothly.
If another department should have handled, then Karin should not have let us on for months. This is not for Honors, this is for their plain scholarship tiers that they have advertised on their website, and the website stated to go to Admissions for any questions, which I did. If I can’t trust them to fix a simple error, I certainly don’t trust anything they advertise, nor with my son’s safety. There was an article in the paper about Temple misquoting safety statistics in order to increase enrollment.
I never did get the corrected scholarship letter to this day! Karin wrote via email that Temple was in error and that we would receive a corrected letter, but we never did.
The same thing happened to me! Temple has been pushed down to the bottom of my college list because of this. I’m just glad I’ve been accepted to other schools that actually help to fix problems.
Dancingwriter, if they did it to one, chances are they did it to many more. They are completely incompetent. I’m glad you were accepted to other schools, too - best of luck to you!
