Quality of Bio Majors at UCs

So, I was just curious, and hopefully some people who have transferred can answer this question:

Does the quality of biology majors ever improve? I'm referring to your peers/bio majors as students. Currently, at CC, 22/25 students in my biology majors class are... um... kinda herpity derp derp. I don't see this same level of idiocy in my physics class or in my calc class. Is this solely because of the number of prerequisites per class? Will Organic Chemistry be a great improvement over Gen Chem, in terms of student maturity/intelligence/lab partner quality? Are these the people I'm going to be working with?

Maybe it's just a fact of where I am, currently. I guess, in the end, you determine who your peers are by the amount of effort you put into your own work, and your own ambitions. I would expect that someone who manages to end up at MIT deserves to have better peers than someone at a CC. But yeah - is it better at UCs?

It is usually just the first classes. Like first bio, first physics, first gchem. They are just getting their foot in to see if they can handle doing pre-med. Eventually people will get weeded out.
