Quality of BYU's Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences?

If I don’t get accepted to any colleges this Fall, I’m thinking of applying to BYU. Yes, I know about the heavy Mormon culture. I’m Mormon. There are countless threads about Mormon culture at BYU.

What I’m asking is, what is your opinion on the humanities, arts, and social sciences at BYU? I’ve heard that accounting / business are some of the top programs in the country, but I haven’t heard anything about how good the ones I’ve named are. Of course, quality is subjective, but if you’ve attended classes in, majored in, or know anything about these areas of BYU, what was your experience? Useful? Stimulating? Teachers that aren’t just knowledgable in their subject, but skilled in the art of teaching? What about the other students? Did fear of breaching taboo subjects hinder you / others from fully exploring a train of thought? If you’ve attended BYU and other colleges, how do BYU’s arts and social sciences and humanities compare to your experience at the other colleges?
