Quality Tex-Mex

Here's the deal: I've spent the past four days either right on the border or in San Antonio, attempting to make up for the past four months of "surviving" off of Taco Cabana. I'm not looking forward to the trip back to Houston precisely because I haven't found any great hole-in-the-wall, grease-laden, entirely-too-sketchy Mexican food restaurants in the Rice area.

I'm sick and desperate. Help me out.

el meson in rice village is great google it

Oh by the way.
What IS rice village? If someone could please clarify I would appreciate it.

Chuy's Tex-Mex. Google it. End of story. Done.

I have just improved your life significantly. It's ok, thank me later ;)

Rice Village is the area around Rice- It's full of shops, restaurants, etc.

My go-to greasy/scuzzy/cheap Tex-Mex establishments are Chapultepec (on Richmond, east of Montrose) and Tapatia (on Richmond, west of Montrose). Both are open 24 hours (or at least late enough that I've never seen them closed).

chuy's is really good too I agree

go to chuy's or el meson

for shazheng: Rice Village

is there a Chipotle near Rice? Just curious :P

yes - there's one on Kirby

goodness, i love chipotle.

chipotle > freebirds.

But Mission Burrito is closer and cheaper than both.

Fantastic! Thanks, everyone.

(Oh and freebirds > chipotle)

Freebirds is the best. No competition.

Freebirds ~ Mission Burrito > Chipotle.

I will admit that Mission's current Taco Tuesday/Thursday deal is pretty awesome, and it's more convenient from campus than Freebirds.

If you have a car, go to the Ninfas on Navigation. Yum. It's the original one. The closest one to Rice is on Kirby north of 59.
