Its almost 1 am here, and I have things to do tomorrow early in the morning so i am going to have some alone time with my pillow. I will talk to you guys some time soon. This is a great thread. if any of you receive any info be sure to keep the rest of us informed and up to date.

no
im not south korean
but im actually chinese
but i look korean so people say
=/
but i guess its okay.
well i guess im not going out anymore
hahahaha

I got the Pomona conference, but I won't be going, since I'll be leaving Camp Royal for Boys' State that day. lol, too much on my plate for 24 hours. I'll admit I'm a bit disappointed I didn't get a better award like advising or the summer programs, but at least I can say I was an award winner. =P

Yeah, I guess not, or the conference could have been what they were referring to. I'm fine with not going now, but the fact that I got beat out by 60 people for better prizes makes me wonder about my chances in the college match next year. Oh well, we'll see.

Hello, I applied to Questbridge, and I have yet to recieve ANY notice! Wasn't I supposed to recieve something by yesterday? I'm kind of disappointed and I don't know what to do. Any advice or comments about what could have happened? Does EVERYONE recieve a notice?

ya Joseph.lyle, I kind of feel the same way. But then if you retake SATs and have more APs, it might distinguish your more acdemically. I know for the college match essay, I am going to have my teachers proofread them and everything. This time, I just did it on my own.

Actually I don't know. Besides taking more AP Tests and SAT 2's in June I thought I would have ranked way higher. The only thing that would have stuck out would have been my Math SAT but everything else was exceptional. I don't think I'm going to do the college match because I'm not a minority (being female is actually a bad thing in college ad today) and I'm not first generation. And doesn't it defeat the purpose of colleges being need blind? I mean if you go through Questbridge they are going to know you can't offer private school tuition. But yep something else to put on the awards and honors part of college applications.

I hope everyone remembers that not getting the college counseling is not indicative of not getting chosen in College Match. The colleges choose who they want, NOT QuestBridge. This time around, it was QuestBridge that chose the finalists.

yeah anyone can apply for college match
just that we applied for the college prep scholarship
so all our info is gonna be transferred to college match
so we wont have to go through the common application again?

2,200 students applied to QuestBridge College Match program last year. Around 913 students were chosen to be QuestBridge finalists. 103 people were chosen to be matched with the partner colleges last year.

Anyone can apply to the QuestBridge College Match program. Unfortunately, I think first-generation and minority status mean more in the College Match program because the colleges are probably more sensitive to diversity. I think they cared less about those things for the CPS because it's not like they were choosing students that would eventually get chosen by the partner colleges.

I received a "high-achieving" e-mail and was asked to attend the Stanford conference (although I live in Miami, FL)

What I don't get, though, is that nobody (at least on CC) got an e-mail that told them they were outright accepted to the summer program of their choice? Or perhaps those 10 people are not on CC? My mother was under the impression that if you qualified to attend a College Prep Conference, that you were a semi-finalist for the summer program and would be notified of your acceptance later.. This is confusing?
