I am a Questbridge finalist that opted out of college match and chose to go ED. I applied to Emory, Northwestern, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale because these four colleges offer a concentration in medical anthropology. I would be completely satisfied with Emory (very hopeful for an admission!) but applied to the others because their medical anthropology programs are incredible and I figured, why not.

31 on the ACT (35 English, 34 Reading, 32 Science, 28 Math are my highest subscores - I know none of them superscore though)

2170 SAT, 212 on PSAT (I am a National Merit Scholar)

3.96 unweighted GPA - the only B I have made in high school was in freshman year in Accelerated Biology.

National Honor Society (VP junior year, President currently)
Beta Club
Mu Alpha Theta
Marine Science Quiz Bowl
Creative Writing Club
Teens Fighting Animal Cruelty
Homecoming Committee
Youth Leadership
Varsity Track Team
Varsity Dance Team

I have also had a steady job since the second week of my junior year.

I am also a low income, first generation, "under-represented" minority (black lol) female student from Mississippi, a state notorious for its lackluster school systems. (My high school only offers 2 AP courses - I finished AP chem with a 93 and have a 97 in AP calc but cannot afford to take the exams.)

I know I am lacking in leadership positions but NHS is a HUGE commitment. I am worried that applying as a Questbridge student may lower my chances just because colleges can only afford to admit so many each year and my ACT score is not very competitive. Being from a southern state where few students take the SAT I am unsure where I rank in regards to that.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!
