Where do you see this. Can someone add the link?
Hi guys! I have two questions:
- I have some very important activities that I did in the place I lived before. I'm not able to continue them after moving. Does putting them in make me look bad?
- In the activities section, do I rank the 6 activities? What's that "order of importance" about?
Thanks!
@HappySquirrel 1) I think you should still put them, but maybe also mention why you’re unable to continue them. 2) What they mean by order of importance is which activity you do means the most to you, and that activity you would list as #1. Then you would list the second most important activity, and so on.
@univbound101 What we’re referring to is the pictures they list at the bottom of the page when you click on one of their partner colleges. Well that’s what I think we’re referring to.
Done with Biographical Essay. College Summer Programs and Quest For Excellence Awards next.
So far I still have to do the biographical essay and short answers. I’ve done my essays for the Quest STEM award and summer program stuff. I think I might also do the Quest Art award essays since performing arts has mad a huge impact on my life.
Im going to be grinding Friday-Wednesday. Thank God spring break starts this week
The biographical essay is killing me :^( I’m almost finished with it, but I’m not satisfied with it.
I’m a low-income student but high asset (300k valued home without any debt). are my chances slim??
Is it okay to say “I’ve” instead of “I have” in the essays to save characters?
@HappySquirrel Yea you should be fine
Done!!!
Submitted my application today.
What a relief. :bz
@HappySquirrel My D got matched and we are a two parent home. I actually have an advanced degree and our income is decent but a family of 6. Just keep your grades up and you should be fine. Remember Questbridge is for high achieving low income students. If your grades and stats are not super star status, then you should have a compelling story to go with it.
Did you guys enter next years classes too?
@kassh4 We are not supposed to. Only 9-11th and possibly summer school.
@Hamlon Thanks, that’s what I thought, but I saw the future course option, so I was confused.
@kassh4 That is probably for kids who are on a system other than semester-based or taking dual credit with a flexible term option. The dual credit was true for me because one of my classes isn’t starting until this week.
@kassh4 I didn’t. I don’t think they asked you to. Only previous and current ones are required.
God, I am struggling on the how has your state positively influenced you prompt. I seriously don’t think my state has given me any special opportunities at all. Illinois is such a boring state.
@kassh4 I live in Illinois too. I revolved my response around how small-town experiences and the strong sense of community that they bring have positively influenced me. I also threw in some anecdotes of childhood experiences to pack an emotional punch. The anecdotes weren’t drastic events though, they were just small things that contributed to my growing up (like an ice cream shop I used to frequent). Hope that helps at least a little.
Is it bad that I still have the essay and two Awards section responses to write? @-)
