Yes I got college counseling with a student from Rice. I am so relieved that I got it. Did you?

I’m confused. What summer program is this? aha did we have to apply to it separately or was it included in our application for the College prep?

No, DD only received the Yale event on 6/22 and the college visit nominations. I am wondering if those with past summer experiences are less likely to receive a summer program? DD has has 2. One @ Choate Rosemary Hall, the summer after freshman year & a biotechnology program at a university last summer.

All will not be lost if she doesn’t get a program, she will be doing cancer research @ a local university.

@NewHaven Yes, I received the counseling, though I was notified when I was notified about Fein Fellow/it was part of my Fein Fellow award…

@MIT on your QB application, did you say you were available to attend any of the 3 Emory sessions or just specific sessions? Also, which one are you going to actually attend?

I got the college admissions conference and nomination for an all-expense paid college visit but I’m still waiting on the summer programs.
I guess I didn’t get any of the summer programs because it’s May 12 now (mid-May) and I see that you and almadon were already notified at the beginning of May… and I thought I had a really strong application… oh well.

Hey everyone, sorry for being annoying but I really want to know… has anyone else been contacted by either QB or a college about the summer programs?

I got the one for Notre dame

@Kopykat I think everybody has been notified. I am in an unofficial facebook group consisting of a couple hundred of this year’s applicants/some seniors that did QB and based on discussions in our group it sounds like everybody who got a summer program already received notification…

Congratulation Marilynn96!
I applied to the Emory, Stanford, Yale, and Harvard ones but I guess I didn’t get them… oh well.
Do you mind me asking when you were contacted by the rep?

Thanks for letting me know.
I guess I can spend my summer doing community service.

@kopy cat in April. a week before the college prep decisions came out. But it wasn’t for sure until May 1

I asked QuestBridge about the result and got the following email

"All recipients of a college summer program scholarship through the 2013 College Prep Scholarship have been notified. If you have not already been contacted by our staff, unfortunately you have not been selected for a summer scholarship. Please note that we were only able to select 30 students out of more than 3,000 College Prep Scholars for this award, and it was very difficult to select candidates. "

I don’t want to sound pretentious, condescending, or something… but I thought I had pretty good chance…but I guess not…

I have SAT above 2200, GPA over 4.8, international awards…

but I have not spent much time on essay… I guess that’s why I didn’t get the scholarship for summer program…

kind of disappointing…but oh well…

Haha, I know how you feel don’t worry about sounding pretentious.
I just wish they would have notified us earlier so I could have applied to other summer programs. It sucks because I really thought I had a chance and now I’ll never have a chance to go to any summer program since the deadlines have passed. Oh well, I saw that there were actually people who got into the summer programs but didn’t even get invited to the college admission conferences. I still find it hard to believe that only 30 people got accepted since there were like at least 7 different programs (I know the Harvard SSP is not exclusively for QP College Prep applicants but I’m not sure about the other ones).

I don’t think any of the summer programs were exclusively for college prep scholars though

Hopepediatrician: I think u should have gotten a summer program. I have similar stats ( I dont have international awards though ). I think adversity is a big factor though. My household income is under $10,000 and I go to a failing school in the middle of nowhere. My parents are undocumented immigrants too. So I think adversity may have gotten me in to the Emory summer program.

Anyone know when we will find out if we got a campus visit and how we will be notified?

Kayy: late summer early fall. I believe colleges will inform u themselves.

@kayyyy If you got CPS you have been nominated for all the visits, as OP said colleges will directly contact you over the summer/fall if you received one…

Hello all. DD received an email for a visit to Wellesley in the fall. But it doesn’t look automatic though. It looks like a travel grant and I think she has to send in her transcript. So you all might start to see invitations begin to trickle in as well. We thought the invites we’re automatic/would be sent later in the summer. She is hoping for more!

I dont know if this is a visit but I got a $250 grant from Carleton to visit them. However, my parents told me that they would never let me go to Carleton.
