Question about AES scholarships

We have never visited UTD though my son’s been to Dallas once. UTD was on my son’s list early in high school because of the chess scholarships but they got way more competitive and he’s not good enough to get one (rating of over 2300 and son’s only about 2060), so we definitely know that UTD attracts good, strong STEM students. Also, our church planted a church in the Dallas area and so we have friends in the area. Finally, we have heard awesome things about the dorms at UTD. Most people have never heard of UTD but their stats are actually as strong or stronger than UT Austin. Since they started as a grad school, it stands to reason they’ve got great academics.

I wish you well, too, heavenlyhostess!

Hey guys. I got my admission letter on December 9th. How much time after did it take you guys to get your AES scholarship information?

sbjdorlo–Wow! Chess sounds like a great EC!!

BTW, your church plant wouldn’t happen to be a Sovereign Grace church, would it?

Yoshi–My son applied in early October. But UTD had told me last summer that they would wait to get a good applicant pool before making decisions and that it probably wouldn’t be until January. So we were pleased to have it early and it makes for a nice Christmas present.

I did call the AES office though and they said they will continue to send out notifications as they can. So hopefully, the wait won’t be long.

I got my mail from the McDermott Office right after we let out of school and wasnt able to send in my transcripts or counselor recs, do you think they will let me send those in right after school starts if i talk with them? I will have everything else in
