How hard is AP economics
Is there ALOT of math involved, or not much
I;m considering taking this course enxt yr
thanks

It isn't too bad but you should look for yourself at a practice exam and then you will know the level and amount of math. It isn't like it tests over econometric modeling or anything like that.

not ALOT of math....but some of both Micro and Macro econ uses mathematics. At the college level, the higher up you go the more math you use. An econometrics class can look alot like a higher level Calc course. I have taught Econ at HS and COLLEGE level. The UPSIDE to taking AP Econ...you can take 2 AP tests (micro and macro) and get up to 6 college credits.

Hardly any math - there's a little arithmetic. Be able to plug numbers into a formula.

Personally, I don't find AP Econ to be difficult. Some people struggle though. You have to be able to think a little intuitively at times, but it's pretty much straight forward. There isn't much math at all...just know how to plug and chug. A lot of people do AP Econ independent study and get 5s on the exam.

i find it to be confusing, micro at least- in terms of its concepts and everything, partly because i never learned anything about economics in jr high or elementary. with classes like math, science, english social and spanish i have a strong foundation

thx for the replies
Do you find it fun/interesting, or boring?

I really like Econ - I am self-studying for the Micro test (textbook and everything) and might semi-review for Macro just to see if I can pass it.

The class can boring at times, but it's usually pretty interesting. The material is most interesting when comparing it to today's economy in the US.

I like econ. I have an amazing teacher though, class is never boring. I'm doing well but know many who are struggling.
