Question about Brooklyn College BA/MD program postmark deadline

Hello! I have a quick question about the Brooklyn College BA/MD Program. The postmark deadline is December 31st, which is today. I went to a 24 hour post office(computer-operated mailing at night) at about 12:30 am tonight(few hours ago) on my way home from dinner. I did this just to relieve the stress of sending it later on today considering the fact that its new years eve. My question is that I got a large sticker from the computer which I had to put on my envelope. This sticker has the date 12/31/09 on it. I know that a postmark is something different from this but does anyone know if this will still work?

Will the sticker(used as a stamp) that has the date 12/31/09 work as a postmark for my application? In my opinion, as long as the date is there, I don't see why they will not accept it and see that I got the application in on time. I just want to make sure that this is correct. I know it was stupid of me to not just wait it out until the morning and get a real postmark, but I didn't want to take any chances. Please let me know what you guys think. Thank you!

they’ll know if its postmarked by a certain date because the post office will mail it by today and say that they did so, i believe. as long as you gave them the envelope today (which you did), you’ll have no problem. even if it was about a day late, they would still most probably accept it anyway, or they would really just be trying to be a pain
