i heard in another forum that for impacted csu schools such as cal poly and sdsu, that you would have an advantage to applying early in the month vs. late in november. is this true? i want to know if i would have an equal chance with everyone else who applied earlier in the month
thanks!

At some other schools, many times admissions will have an open admissions schedual, but have a preset limit of people to admit. Meaning once theyre full, theyre full, and even if you're a better candidate than somebody who applied earlier, they still get in. Whether cal poly does this or not, my guess is most colleges would rate all the applicants equally. You compete with others in your major to get in, so it would seem that the colleges would look at all the applicants, see how many spaces they have to fill, and admit the top "x" applicants, regardless of who applied when. ED, of course, would be an entirely different decision making process.

Yes, cal poly takes the top applicants for each major until they have the most students they can take. You are not any less likely to get in because you applied later. I applied mid-nov and found out I think in late feb.
