<p>It's a very liberal campus in a very conservative town. How does that work out for LGBTs? What is the level of tolerance/acceptance on and off campus?</p>

<p>I would have to say that the level of tolerance is very good -- both on campus and in the surrounding downtown town area and neighborhood. The Westside area is also very tolerant.</p>
<p>I live a block from campus and it is not unusual to see gay couples holding hands on the street or exchanging a kiss in public on Friday or Saturday night.</p>
<p>You would feel uncomfortable at the local mall or most places outside of the local area -- but then, there really isn't a good reason to visit them anyway.</p>
