Question about CCCP (2020 transfer)

Hey everyone  First post

I know it’s a bit early for Fall 2020 transfers, but I do have a question.
My top pick is UCLA, prospective Psych major and I’m guesstimating my GPA will be around 3.8 by the end of summer quarter. Totally on the low end for such an impacted major, but I’ll be TAP certified also by the end of summer quarter so I’m thinking of putting psychobio as my alternate pick.

My question is, is CCCP “worth it” in the sense that it may give me a competitive edge? I’m really interested in the STEM program itself, but if it’s not necessarily something admissions cares about I would prefer not to have to commute and stuff.

I have the same question about honors societies such as PTK and Psi Beta. I lurk in recent transfer threads and it seems a lot of people put honors societies under awards. It’s just a little confusing to me because it seems most people applying to UCLA meet the GPA requirements for those clubs, like it’s a given. That’s not a dig, if helps even a little for applications I’ll be more than happy to pay the fees lol.

Thanks guys! any other 2020 transfers are welcome to comment

What is CCCP?

https://www.aap.ucla.edu/units/cccp/ here you go, it’s basically an “academic achievement program” that provides you with extra tools and support for transferring. I applied to the STEM SITE which pays for you (if you’re accepted!) to stay a week at UCLA and get some support for transfer/stem.
the only drawback for me is that you have to actually go to UCLA 4ish times a year to maintain membership so I was wondering if it even adds anything of worth to your transcripts. i’ve seen a few people put it for their “stats” in the chance me threads but it doesn’t seem to be as highly regarded as TAP.

Some older people may think it is a communist entity.
