I have a question regarding how majors are not considered when it comes to the college of L and S for the UC’s.
How does each school ensure that they have a good balance of incoming students into each major? How do they ensure that they do have enough History majors vs. Economics majors. If they don’t consider by major, couldn’t they accidentally end up with way too many students in one major vs another? How do they balance the populations? Or, is it fairly well proven that the population and demands for majors doesn’t change too greatly from year to year, and they rely on historical major demands?
