I have admitted as econ major for this fall quarter

But recently, I found great interest toward biological science also

so I am thinking to change major after enroll at ucsb or double major it with my first major

econ.

My question is econ/bio combination for double major is even possible at ucsb?

and another one is can i finish my pre-req of bio class at ucsb or should i finish it before enroll?

please give me best option or any opinion would be really appreciated.

Does your transfer contract allow you to change major once you enter UCSB? Because some of my friends who just transferred this year are stuck with their majors because of their transfer contract.

And are you sure you got accepted for econ? Because econ only accepts freshmen level applicants.

About majoring biological sciences, there’re a lot of pre-major and major requirements for biological sciences. It’s fairly impossible to finish all of the requirements within two years after you transfer.

yes I am sure I got admitted as bus-econ

I am wondering the same thing… possibly they made a mistake there…

Then possible option would be doing a double major? I really want to major in bio even it takes long time…

are you going to ucsb this fall?

Biz econ is not econ. That’s why I was confused.

Well, it’s all your choice that you want to stay longer and major in something that you like.

No, I’ll be a sophomore this fall.

I hate to burst your bubble but, I’m in the same boat ( switching from psych to bio) and on the site it says :

Biological Sciences - Transfer students may not change to a Biological Sciences major. Admission to the Pre-Biological Sciences major was granted based on a screening for major preparatory coursework. Further information about Biological Sciences may be obtained from the Biological Sciences undergraduate advisors at bioadv@lifesci.ucsb.edu.
