Question about EC's

<p>My friends told me that I can't put an EC on my college app if it's not official by the school/organization. I started an organization completely out of school that has no official link to my school . It's an unofficial non-profit that sends cards from churches, schools, and others to hospice, hospitals, nursing homes, Ect. We nearly had 5,000 cards sent last year and I spent a crap load of time organizing all of the people and cards. </p>

<p>Can I not put this on my college app? I really don't have any "official" documentation of my club as it's just a bunch of friends and a few sponsors working together at home. </p>

<p>ECs count regardless of if they occur in or outside of school.</p>

<p>That is absolutely an EC, your friends are clueless.</p>

<p>Extracurricular = outside the curriculum, so anything outside of school still definitely counts. </p>

<p>Absolutely, yes!! Almost all my ECs are outside of school.</p>
