Is the cumulative GPA based off of semester grades or final grades. I got a 89 last semester but this semester I got a 94 in AP European History. I got all A’s in the rest of my classes both semesters. I have 7 classes.
The cumulative gpa is the average of final grades from all classes taken by the end of each term. It can change in either direction when grades are figured into cumulative gpa as each term is completed.
Usually the cumulative GPA is based off of the final grades of all classes combined. So in AP Euro your final grade would be the average of both semesters, for you roughly a 91.7. Add that final grade to the rest of the 6 final grades in your other classes, and divide by 6…that’s your cumulative GPA.
“Usually” being the key word. To find out how your HS does it, ask your GC.
